Japan is my first overseas experience. To make the best of it, I decided to travel a lot aiming to know more about Japan and have a good time here. As a matter of fact, I really achieved my goal.
My home-stay in Hokkaido was fantastic. My host family was in a town named “Setana”. Beside the charming scenery, I managed to have a communication with the local primary school kids, the elders’ school, the nursing home and the pasture, and have a valuable experience both of the Japanese Tea Ceremony and ceramics, where I enjoyed everything and had a great time. I got to know more about Japan which I had hardly known, such as the diversity between different places in Japan, and the traditional Japanese food, family, and culture. In addition, I went to Sapporo and Hakodate, as well. Not only did I go on some tours there, but also I won the first prize in the speech contest.
After my home-stay in Hokkaido, my travel together with my mother began. Tokyo Disneyland was splendid and left me a sweet memory. The trip to Hakone seemed a pity, for it was foggy all the day and we could only make it to see half of the Mount Fuji, yet the lake there was rather lovely though. Kyoto really left me an impression with its magnificent traditional places of interest. The dished in Osaka were palatable. At the same time, I feasted my eyes on Osaka Castle and Himeji Castle. The dears in Nara were very cute, although they kind of scared me when they went after me for bread. Kagosima looked very fascinating with the Island Sakurajima, where our trip came to an end.
My four-day part-time job was very tiring and it made me exhausted, during which, however, I gained a lot of fun. I had acquaintance with new friends and it was enjoyable to see the scholars talking and discussing about some topics and to listen to some part of the presentation.
I really had a fantastic time during my summer vacation in Japan. With sweet memories, I am ready for the new term.
