Issue Practice:“In our time, specialists of all kinds are highly over-rated. We need more generalists-people who can provide broad perspectives.”
In this rapidly changing era and society, in which we human beings are leading a various life everyday, thanks to the advance of technology and science leading to a necessity not only of specialists but also of generalists, equally.
This world can not get amazing progress without specialists, as it is necessary that specialists do research and exploration on diverse fields and even do inventions to make our life more convenient,, colorful and advanced. For instance, without Ford, who invented the production-lines, the efficiency of production nowadays would not be so high, and consequently, our life would not be filled with such numerous types of product. The development of our society calls for specialists to develop knowledge in various areas and our society is not supposed to have an outstanding advance with a high speed and on all aspects of society.
Moreover, for the other thing, specialists are necessary, considering the masses of new knowledge and information require some people to properly, usefully, and thoroughly assimilate them, and with which to do new inventions and research.
However, as far as I am concerned, over-specialization can make it dangerous to our society, since just as we can not justify the whole person, including his characteristics and personality from his finger-nails, we will only live with a narrow sight and the world, then, will doubtlessly just a physical addition result of different areas. In addition, over-specialization may hopefully bring us another consequence, which is that people will live completely independently and care little about anybody else. As a result, to make our society develop rapidly and smoothly, preventing over-specialization is attached to a great significance. Thus, generalists are indispensible as they bring us broader perspectives.
Based on above-mentioned, the development of our society requires specialists, from the result of whom we enjoy a more convenient and high-quality life, as well as generalists equally, people who bring us broad perspectives and make the society filled with interest.

Argument Practice
Argument: Six months ago the region of Forestville increased the speed limit for vehicles traveling on the region's highways by ten miles per hour. Since that change took effect, the number of automobile accidents in that region has increased by 15 percent. But the speed limit in Elmsford, a region neighboring Forestville, remained unchanged, and automobile accidents declined slightly during the same six-month period. Therefore, if the citizens of Forestville want to reduce the number of automobile accidents on the region's highways, they should campaign to reduce Forestville's speed limit to what it was before the increase.
The argument is well-presented, but not thoroughly well-reasoned. By making a comparison of the region of Forestville, where the number of automobile accidents increased owing to its increase in the highway speed limit, with the region of Elmsford, an area with a lower speed limit and subsequently fewer accidents happened, the argument for reducing Forestville’s speed limit to reduce speed limit seems logical. However, the issue needs further exploration.
For one thing, the author is failing to recognize that there exist other possible alternatives, which can lead to the increase in the automobile accidents. Such elements include the fact that the drivers in Forestville may be young, inexperienced, or the highways in Forestville are slippery and not fit for fast-driving. It is also possible that Forestville has much rougher terrain. In a word, the author is failing to consider the geography and physical elements that may be leading the increase in highway accidents.
For another thing, the comparison is skeptical since it is only on the numbers and statistics, while at the same time the two regions may have different characteristics. People in the two regions may have different habits and daily schedules. It is possible that citizens in Forestville are accustomed to drive during less safe times of the day, such as dawn or late evening than Elmsford citizens. What’s more, the traffic lights in Forestville are probably darker. As a result, the comparison is not frame to support the conclusion that the citizens of Forestville should campaign to reduce speed limit.
The argument clearly states that even though the speed limit in Elmsford remained unchanged, the accidents in that region still declined slightly, which illustrates that speed is not the only factor that connects to the highway accidents.
In sum, there must be many possible factors contributing to the increase in highway accidents in Forestville, which requires the citizens and officials of Forestville to evaluate all possible alternatives before any decisions are made about the reduction in speed limit.

Only four days, the most joyful and enjoyable four days ever in my life
What impressed me most was the atmosphere where the scholars and writers, professors and researchers from all over the world had a heat discussion with one another on any problems and exchanged each other's opinions and research achievements.
It was such a fun that I could get acquainted with so many scholars and researchers from my dear home -China, and Taiwan, Hongkong, Macao, and lend them a hand whenever it was necessary. I even managed to meet one of my predecessors from my University back in China. Nothing can be more enjoyable than helping your compatriots out.
Dear presenters, I was more than delighted to receive your smiles and praise, which made me filled with accomplishment feels.
Steven, I like to communicate with you, because of your bright opinions.
Mr. Amiable (though this is not your name), I respect you for your wonderful smiles and early greetings to every one of us staffs, which were like a kind of admirable presents in the morning and a comfort to us who were deadly sleepy.
Alshwaidi Abdulla, I appreciate your humorous but fluent Japanese. I am gonna go to visit UAE sometime in the future.
My dear fellow assistants, we had such a fantastic time working together, though sometimes very tiring.
At last, I found surprisingly that I had fallen in love with you, IAICS. Thank you very much. Interesting people, interesting opinions, interesting communication everyday... The most joyful four days ever...

Joy, Happiness, a bit of Tiredness--my Summer Vacation
Japan is my first overseas experience. To make the best of it, I decided to travel a lot aiming to know more about Japan and have a good time here. As a matter of fact, I really achieved my goal.
My home-stay in Hokkaido was fantastic. My host family was in a town named “Setana”. Beside the charming scenery, I managed to have a communication with the local primary school kids, the elders’ school, the nursing home and the pasture, and have a valuable experience both of the Japanese Tea Ceremony and ceramics, where I enjoyed everything and had a great time. I got to know more about Japan which I had hardly known, such as the diversity between different places in Japan, and the traditional Japanese food, family, and culture. In addition, I went to Sapporo and Hakodate, as well. Not only did I go on some tours there, but also I won the first prize in the speech contest.
After my home-stay in Hokkaido, my travel together with my mother began. Tokyo Disneyland was splendid and left me a sweet memory. The trip to Hakone seemed a pity, for it was foggy all the day and we could only make it to see half of the Mount Fuji, yet the lake there was rather lovely though. Kyoto really left me an impression with its magnificent traditional places of interest. The dished in Osaka were palatable. At the same time, I feasted my eyes on Osaka Castle and Himeji Castle. The dears in Nara were very cute, although they kind of scared me when they went after me for bread. Kagosima looked very fascinating with the Island Sakurajima, where our trip came to an end.
My four-day part-time job was very tiring and it made me exhausted, during which, however, I gained a lot of fun. I had acquaintance with new friends and it was enjoyable to see the scholars talking and discussing about some topics and to listen to some part of the presentation.
I really had a fantastic time during my summer vacation in Japan. With sweet memories, I am ready for the new term.
